Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using TongueTide ("we", "us"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity on your account. Give us accurate information and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account.

3. Plans and payment

• Free is available at no cost and may include daily limits.
• Pro is a subscription billed monthly or yearly. It renews automatically at the then-current price until you cancel.
• Lifetime is a one-time payment for Pro features for as long as TongueTide operates.
• Payments are processed by our payment partner. Prices are shown before you pay and may include applicable taxes.
• Promotional or access codes have no cash value and can be withdrawn at any time.

4. Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel Pro at any time from the pricing page ("Manage or cancel"). You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. If you're unhappy with a first purchase, email support@tonguetide.io within 14 days and we'll refund it. Where your local law gives you more rights, those apply.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break or overload it, scrape it, resell access, share accounts, or use the AI conversation features to create unlawful, hateful or harassing content.

6. AI-generated content

Lessons, conversation partners, corrections and translations are generated with AI. They're designed to be helpful, but they can contain mistakes. TongueTide is a learning tool, not a certified translation or professional service.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you write and record. You give us permission to process it only to run and improve your learning experience, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes and termination

We may update features, prices or these terms. We'll give notice of material changes, and price changes for existing subscriptions take effect at your next renewal. You can delete your account at any time; we may suspend accounts that break these terms.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
